1. Who this covers

This policy explains what Furst Solutions (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2021/557066/07), of Nr 38 The River Hamlet, Gie Road, Milnerton, Western Cape, 7441, South Africa ("Anton", "we", "us"), collects when you use the Anton app, and what we do with it. It is written to South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We are the responsible party for your personal information.

Our Information Officer is the director of Furst Solutions (Pty) Ltd, contactable at anton@spartacusv4.tech or on the Contact page.

2. What we collect

DataWhy
Email address & password (hashed, never stored in plain text)Sign-in, password reset, account emails
Date of birthChecking you're old enough (16+), and whether a parent/guardian needs to consent (under 18)
For under-18 accounts: a parent or guardian's name and email, and a record that they consentedMeeting POPIA's rule on processing a child's information
Language and voice preferencesRuns the app the way you've set it up
Sentences, translations, custom notes, photos, audio recordings you createThis is the product — your own card collection
Usage counts (how many AI generations this month/today)Enforcing plan limits fairly
Subscription status, plan, renewal dateKnowing what you're entitled to
IP address, briefly, on login/password-reset attemptsRate-limiting abuse, nothing else

We do not collect payment card details. PayFast handles those directly — we only ever receive a payment reference and status, never a card number.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of other companies (operators, in POPIA's terms) to run the Service. Each is bound by an agreement to process your information only on our instructions and to keep it secure, and each only gets what it needs:

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use advertising trackers on this site.

4. Where your data lives

Anton's database and your uploaded audio and photos are stored on our hosting provider's server. OpenAI, Google, PayFast and our email provider process data outside South Africa. POPIA allows this where the transfer is necessary to provide the service you've asked for, and by using Anton you agree to it. Each of these providers is an established company subject to its own data-protection obligations, and our agreement with each requires an adequate level of protection.

5. How long we keep it

Your cards, audio, photos and account details are kept for as long as your account exists, and are deleted when your account is deleted. Payment and tax records are kept for five years afterwards, as South African tax law requires. Brief login/reset IP logs are kept for a few days.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Payment and mail provider credentials are encrypted at rest. The site runs over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but this is a small, deliberately simple app with a small attack surface, not a sprawling one.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA, you can:

You can edit your name and account details yourself in Settings. To get a copy of everything we hold about you, or to have your account and its data deleted, email us (see below) and we'll do it within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. There's no charge for a reasonable request.

8. Cookies

We use one session cookie to keep you signed in. That's it — no advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children and under-18 accounts

Anton is for people aged 16 and older. We don't accept sign-ups from anyone under 16.

Under South African law anyone under 18 is a child, and POPIA does not let us process a child's personal information without a parent or legal guardian's consent. So if the date of birth you give at sign-up is under 18, your account is created but held inactive: you can't create cards, use any AI feature, or open the lessons until consent is confirmed. You're asked for a parent or guardian's name and email address, we email them an explanation of what Anton collects and does, and they confirm by clicking a one-time link. We record that a named person consented, when, and from what IP address — that record is kept for as long as the account exists, as evidence the consent was given.

A parent or guardian can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us (see the Contact page); we then delete the account and its data. Consent given while the account holder was under 18 does not need to be renewed when they turn 18.

10. Changes to this policy

If this changes materially, we'll say so by email or in-app notice before the change takes effect.

11. Contact
